Monochrome Cats

I take a lot of pictures of my cats, Luke and Leia. Most of them are the equivalent of family snapshots which really only have value for me and my wife, but sometimes the practice pays off and I get some that I consider good enough to share widely.

In particular, Luke’s coloring lends itself very well to monochrome. Here’s some of my favorites.

One of the first usable photos I took with my R5 and the 100/2.8 L Macro, I am really happy that I was able to capture him in such a striking pose.

Another with the 100/2.8 L Macro (love that lens!). He was sleeping in one of his favorite spots, in a sunbeam of course. I intentionally underexposed it a bit to black out the background.

Taken shortly after the last one, this is the only one of Leia I have to share. I love this cat deeply, but she is not as apt to pose for a photo as her brother.
